KYCP relies on a number of background
processes running smoothly. These background processes are the brains behind the visual interface that are constantly working to ensure that all is in place and working accordingly. This also includes ongoing connections with third party solutions, constantly pulling and pushing information. There are times when such processes might fail or stop working for reasons that are beyond anyone's control. As a result, such failures can go un-noticed for days. This
feature is designed to reduce the possibility of such occurrences going
unnoticed.
The visibility of this new feature is tied to new
rights ‘Can View System Failure Alerts’ and ‘Can View System Health Monitor’. A user with such rights will be able to access the Health Monitor via the new option in the main menu of KYCP. Also, should an alert be activated the system will load a new notification interface on the homepage of KYCP.
If there happens to be an active
System Failure for which alert was produced, the user with the respective rights can
access System Health Monitor module directly through home page by clicking
‘View System health Monitor’ on the produced alert notification:
Accessing the new module will bring the user to the
below overview of all items being tracked and reported on, if there is a
failure in any area it will show up as ‘Error’ in ‘Status’ column with details
in the ‘Status Message’ column:
This new module tracks a list of services provided by
KYCP as well as the services that are running to maintain all connections with third parties. This monitor will raise alerts such as calls to API timing out or not getting a
response, Risk Scoring not being calculated, notifications not being sent to
users, email queue being stuck and many others. Also monitored are the modules that
your KYCP is using specifically such as screening providers.
The System Health Monitor has been
developed to automatically refresh when the service item in question is
triggered in order to ensure the immediate alerts when issues happen. The service will show ‘OK’ status for when the service item is running as
expected, an ‘ERROR’ for when there is a failure in any service area as well as status ‘STOPPED’ which is displayed when a particular module (item) has
not run for over 24hrs.
